The American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), a non-profit organization founded in 1964, is the world’s leading professional organization representing physicians who treat people with cancer. ASCO’s members set the standard for patient care worldwide and lead the way in carrying out clinical research aimed at improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer. ASCO has more than 23,500 members from over 100 countries who are clinical oncologists, and other healthcare professionals with a predominant interest in oncology. ASCO is committed to advancing the education of oncologists and other oncology professionals, to advocating for policies that provide access to high-quality cancer care, and to supporting the clinical trials system and the need for increased clinical and translational research.
